Make your own lucky penny holder by crocheting the flower and leaves. Perfect for the brides who want to have a penny in her shoe but is wearing open shoes or sandles. Directions on adding a piece of ribbon to the back make it wearable on a shoe strap.
I designed this flower to hold a coin for brides who wear sandals or other shoes that can’t hold a lucky coin. Though the old poem says sixpence, you might not be able to find one depending on the country you live in so why not use a lucky penny instead? I suggest either the year of the wedding or 2 coins, one with the year of the bride’s birth and one with the year of the grooms. You could even use the year of the wedding and the year they met or got engaged if that was another year. Make the flower in blue for the something blue!
These are so cute they’d make great shower favors. Also make one for each of the mothers and bridesmaids.
This pattern is meant to be printed book style so I included a page on how to print it. There are 10 pages to print , front and back, with a LOT of photos. There's are even directions on cleaning your coin.
Use threads like DMC, and Lizbeth. You'll need metal crochet hooks sizes 8, & 10. It will depend on which size thread you use. You need to know basic crocheting. The stitches include: slip stitch; chain; single, double, treble crochet stitches; magic circle ( also called magic ring and magic loop). I give directions for the magic circle but not the other stitches.
In the photo you can see I made one flower into a key ring but you can just add crochet chain, cord, or ribbon so it can hang. The smaller white flower with the charms has a pin on the back so it can be worn while the larger white flower has a ribbon on the back for sliding on a shoe strap.
