Item details

This is a digital item that you will download onto your computer and print at home.

A twist on the "knapsack of hope" -- this is a printable kit so that you can make tags as shown in the photos. This is a great "going away" gift for someone you care about. It's so hard to find gifts for coworkers, temps or interns who are leaving... so this is a great option. I give one to my Graduate Assistants when they are done with their internships :) It's also a great idea for your best friend (and/or daughter) that's leaving for college this month. Or, your college roommate who is moving to New York City for their dream job! Your neighbor that's moving away... you get the idea. This is a nice way to send them off with something small and sweet, that doesn't cost a lot of money, but will really make an impression.

I connected the tags with a binder clip. After printing these out, include the items from the tags in a little knapsack (or a box, or attach directly to tags) and give as a gift. I was able to find all these items at the dollar store so it's a really affordable, heartfelt gift.

The text for the Knapsack of Hope Reads:
A STAR to remind you to keep on shining
A PAPERCLIP to hold the important things together
A KEY to open the doors to new experiences
AN ERASER to fix all the small mistakes
A COIN so that you're never really broke
RUBBERBANDS to help you stretch beyond your limits

You are in for a TREAT with this printable, because I've included tons of options for you. The PDF download has 8 PAGES of goodies... that's right, 8 pages! So make sure you flip through them. I wanted to include some options with the drawings and some without. That way, you could actually GLUE the items right onto the tags and make the gift that way. I didn't include "Knapsack of Hope" on any of the cards. I think doing this as a box of hope, or a chest of hope, would be a really great option.

In the download, you'll get the following configurations so that you can completely customize this gift:
- an 8x10" printable
- tags with rectangles (with drawings, without drawings)
- just rectangles (with drawings, without drawings)
- blank tags (with and without rectangles)
- to & from gift tag options (a gift for you, knapsack of hope, a going away gift)

Dimensions:
tag size: approx. 4.5" x 2.5"
rectangle size: approx. 3" x 2.25"
drawings: approx 1.25"

FAQs

As time allows I can take on some custom work so please ask about my availability to do so. My pricing is $75/hour for any custom design work -- it won't cost $3-5 like the digital download prints you see in the store. I have a professional graphic design/website design portfolio if you'd like to see my work.

After purchasing a digital file, you’ll see a View your files link which goes to the Downloads page. Here, you can download all the files associated with your order. Downloads are available once your payment is confirmed. If you paid with PayPal or a credit card on Etsy, confirmation might take a few minutes. 1. You can print your artwork files on a home printer or an office printer. 2. For a more professional result take your files to your local print shop or photo lab. If you are in the US you can print them at places such as Staples or Office Depot. In the Australia try somewhere like Officeworks. 3. Another excellent professional option is to upload your artwork files to an online print service, like Mpix, Shutterfly or Snapfish. They will print your artwork and mail it to you. Some of these companies can provide frames as well.

The better quality paper you use the better quality print you will get. Thick and ultra-thick paper or cardstock are some great options. Paper or cardstock with a matte or satin finish is great for a modern look. Semi gloss or gloss finishes are also available in ultra-thick paper if that's your personal preference.

SVG and EPS files are both vector-based file types meaning you can shrink and enlarge the elements in the file with zero loss of quality. However, you have the proper program on your computer to be able to manipulate these files. Adobe Illustrator is the most common program for working with vector files but it can be expensive to purchase. If you have a cricut die cutting machine, it accepts uploading custom artwork that is in the SVG file format, making it possible to import the design into the design space and shrinking/enlarging the pieces of the file as needed. If you don't have the proper program you will not be able to use these files.

The download only includes SVG and EPS file types unless otherwise specified. These file types are both vector-based which means they don't lose quality when shrinking or enlarging the file. These versatile file types can be converted into any file format you need at any size you need. You can just google "EPS to PNG converter" (or any file type to any file type converter) and you'll find that there are a lot of websites that can convert the file into the format you need if you don't have Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator to convert them yourself.
