PAYMENT: PayPal is preferred. This Vintage - Antique Magnolia Needle Case is a great and rare find. This would be an excellent addition to add to your sewing supplies, sewing notions, craft supplies, sewing room decor, and other collectibles. This case probably dates to late 1800 to early 1900 era (see page 46 of Helen Lester Thomson's Sewing Tools & Trinkets Value book dating it to 1893). It is made of wood and shaped like a barrel. The front of the case has imprinted, "Magnolia Needle Case", "Trade Mark Art No. 156", and "Accept My Best Wishes." The back of the case has the directions imprinted, "Place the Stroke Parallel With The Number Required" and "Germany". The top of the case opens by using a small screwdriver to remove the lid. The wheel at the top rotates to the size needle you wish to you and dispenses the appropriate selection. The needle sizes are 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. The case appears to be in excellent condition. It is just such a novelty item which I am pretty sure is hard to find. It is 2-1/8 inches tall. It measures right at 4 inches around (at the center). The bottom base is 3/4 inch in diameter. The top is right at 3/4 inch in diameter. SHIPPING SCHEDULE: I most often ship the same day of purchase or the day after; however, I am sometimes traveling, so I allow 1 to 3 business days.
SHIPPING METHOD: I ship via USPS, with 99.9% of everything I ship being sent either 1st Class or Priority. In some cases, I may ship via USPS Flat Rate. In a few instances, I will ship USPS Standard, but not as a rule. There are a few instances where I also may ship something via UPS.
SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION: Orders totaling $50 or more will be sent with signature confirmation; however, if signature delivery to your home is not convenient, I will be happy to ship to your business address.
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: I do NOT ship internationally. I am aware, however, that an occasional International buyer will make a purchase from my shop and provide an American address for the item to be sent, and then the person at that address forwards it to the International person. If you are an International buyer who uses this method to obtain items from my shop, please take notice that once I ship the item to the person at the designated shipment address, my responsibility for getting the item safely delivered has been met. It then becomes the responsibility of the person at the designated shipping address to forward the item to the international buyer. In the event that person does not forward the item to the international buyer, its non-delivery is an issue between the international buyer and the person who received it and was responsible for forwarding it to the international buyer. The same holds true for damage during shipment. My responsibility is to get the item delivered safely to the person at the designated address, and it then becomes that person's responsibility to get the item safely delivered to the international buyer in his/her country.
SHIPPING FEES/SHIPPING REFUND: Buyer pays shipping fees. Unless an item is returned for a reason that is my fault, I do not reimburse shipping fees or pay the shipping cost to return an item. It is important that buyers read descriptions and policies. For instance, if you purchase an item where the measurements are clearly stated, a complaint about the item's size would not be something for which I am faulted. If an item's flaw is described, then a complaint about that same flaw would not be something for which I am faulted. Please read the descriptions and the policies.
PAYMENT: PayPal is my preferred payment method; however I will be happy to turn Direct Checkout on for you, if you do not wish to pay through PayPal. It takes only a moment to turn DC on, so please ask me. I do not accept payments with E-Checks, personal checks, or money orders.
Returns & exchanges
RETURNS AND REFUNDS: I will refund Buyer for the cost of the item IF returned to me within seven (7) business days, and IF the item is returned in its original condition. If an item is returned to me for some reason that is not my fault, I do not refund the original shipping fees nor the fees to return it. If there is a problem with the item, the Buyer must notify me right away upon receiving it. All refunds are subject to my inspection of the item upon it being returned to me. I will not accept returns or make refunds on items which have been damaged or altered in any way. *Prior to purchase, it is critical that buyers read sellers' descriptions and policies - and ask questions.
IF IT'S MY FAULT: I carefully examine every item at the time I purchase it, when I list it, and when I pack it to ship. I fully disclose visible flaws. Should I mistakenly overlook a flaw in the item's description, buyer may return the item to me for examination and determination of refund and shipping fees. "Flaws and Imperfections" do not include shipping related damage.
IF IT'S NOT MY FAULT: I will refund the buyer for the cost of the item if it is returned to me within five (5) business days, and if it is received by me in its original condition. I will make no refunds for items which have been damaged or altered. If an item is returned to me for some reason that is not my fault, I will not refund Buyer's initial shipping fees, nor the fee to return it to me. If it is returned for a reason that is not my fault, I also deduct from the refund amount for my shipping expenses, such as for insurance and signature confirmation.
RECEIPT OF RETURN OF ITEMS: If Buyer wishes to return an item, I must be notified immediately upon Buyer's receipt of the item. Do not return an item without first contacting me. I must receive returned items within five (5) business days from the date buyer receives it. I must receive all returned items in the original condition they were in when I shipped them to buyer. Prior to making any refunds, the items must first be returned to me for inspection, and refunds are contingent upon the results of my inspection.
SHIPPING EXPENSES: I do not refund buyer's initial shipping expenses if the item is returned for some reason that is not my fault. I also deduct from the amount of refund the my shipping expenses such as the purchase of insurance and signature confirmation.
**Please note that I sell vintage items which have been pre-owned, and almost all of which have been pre-used. I do not sell new items, but rather items that are at least 20 years old. The items I sell are purchased from estate sales and auctions, so I have no way to know if they came from a pet free or smoke free home, or if they have been in storage for a time. I do, however, make every effort to accurately describe them.
***I have shipped approximately 2,500 items through sales from Etsy and other venues. I have never had a package go missing. I also have never had a claim of damage to an item during shipment. This is because I go to great extremes to package well. Because I use an abundance of packing materials, this results in an item being bulky and heavier, as well as requiring a larger box. This may increase the postage amount. I have a great concern about my shipments arriving safely to my buyers, as I am sure my buyers wish to receive their items safely. Due to my packaging in order to effectuate safe shipping, however, the postage may be a bit costlier than expected.
