Vintage Needlewoman and Needlecraft booklet no 52, 1952, sewing, crochet and knitting patterns, fairy transfer
October 1952 edition of Needlewoman and Needlecraft magazine includes the free fairy stencil (see picture 3) that is still attached to internal pages ...staples rusty.
31 pages, some colour photographs but mostly black and white. There is one 2 ply ladies cardigan pattern to fit 38/39" bust.
There is a Royal school of needlework floral chart for a tapestry stool top.
There is a 2ply knitting pattern for a ruched dressing jacket.
There is a crochet pattern for a dressing table set and instructions for a gorgeous ballerina crocheted cloth (see picture 4).
NB: To be able to carry out most of the needlework projects in the magazine you needed to send away for the transfers,however, the magazine still has many patterns and is useful inspiration!
There are many advertisements throughout the book mainly knitting, craft or baby product related.....they are fascinating and worth buying the magazine for alone.... a real part of social history!
The condition is good. one small tear on front cover and front and back cover slightly split on spine at bottom about one inch. No loose pages. one small cross pen mark on page four.
