Originally, this was a beautiful hand blown art glass bowl from Gordon Studio of Red Hill, Victoria in Australia. I purchased it in the early 1990's in Queenscliff, Victoria. When I moved back to the US, the bowl arrived safely but a few months later I accidentally broke it. The swirling colors of the glass were so gorgeous I kept the pieces.
As shown in the photos, light shining through the colorful pieces makes stunning patterns. I am not a glass or mosaic artist so I am listing the pieces for someone who appreciates them and will create art from them.
The largest piece is 9" x 7" x .25". Since this was a 16" bowl originally, the pieces are curving and most of them have a finished rim edge. The total weight of the pieces is 3.3 pounds. The darkest areas shown in the photos are actually dark red not black.
Please be careful when handling the pieces and wear protective safety gloves.
A word about my pricing. Before I list an item, I research comparables and list the item at least 25% less than similar items. One of the reasons I opened my shop was to find new homes for the treasures I found in Australia and the USA.
I collected vintage glass, ceramics, accessories and Australian souvenirs at car boot (trunk) sales held on cricket playing fields in Adelaide, South Australia. The boot sales were also called Trash and Treasure and of course, I always found treasure.
Now that I have returned home to the US, I am opening my "ozseaglass" Etsy shop to share the vintage items I collected in Australia and the US.
