Rare and pretty piece of McCoy Art Pottery -- this speckled pink ringed mixing bowl originates from the 1950's. Ideal for creating a touch of color as an accent piece in your home or as a functional addition to your kitchen. This particular bowl has such character! You can see in the interior well where the glaze dripped down one side, and also there is a slight dip on the upper rim, as if someone put their hand on it during production. These are not flaws just manufacturing errors which give them detail and charm. McCoy pieces are very versatile; can be used with its intended purpose in mind or showcased as a collector's piece if you're a McCoy aficionado. Bottom is embossed with "McCoy USA." Not sure if this bowl is oven proof or not; there is some text below the logo but I cannot make out what it says.
The bowl is in great vintage condition. There are no chips, no cracks and no crazing in the body. There is visible wear on the bottom rim which is to be expected. They really just do not make pottery like this anymore! This is a very sturdy, substantial bowl as well, weighing in at 3 pounds. The interior well is clean and stain-free. It measures 8" across the top, is 4 1/2" tall and has a base diameter of 3 3/4"
