One of the most important parts of making a piñata is installing a good hanger.
There are two problems people have with piñatas: the piñata not breaking after way too many hits, and the piñata's hanger breaking before the piñata, leaving the piñata lying sadly on the ground without any candy spilling out.
Getting the hanger right is key! That's why I'm happy to share the hangers I make with you. :)
No need to buy a whole roll of wire to make just one hanger. I'll send you the hanger and a cardboard base. Just feed the wire hanger through the hole in the center of the base, wrap, and attach to the top of your piñata.
Once you've attached the hanger to the top (with a little masking tape to hold it steady), continue to layer paper mache over the hanger so it's firmly embedded in the piñata core.
