Advent is a time of waiting and of preparing for the birth of the Infant Jesus.
With this craft project from the Gregorian Guild Series of Dumb Ox Publications, your whole family can fittingly begin the new liturgical year by getting ready for Our Lord’s coming in a special way.
On or before the first Sunday of Advent, use the materials in this kit to construct the empty manger. Then, through the days of Advent, make Jesus’ crib soft by filling it with straws, earning one straw for each good deed or sacrifice performed.
When Christmas is near, add the gold tinsel Bethlehem star to the cross to show the glory of His coming. The joy of the Savior’s birth overshadows the future sadness of the cross.
Is your manger soft enough? If you have tried very hard during Advent to pray well and practice virtue, Baby Jesus will be delighted to reward your efforts by resting in the lovingly-prepared crib on Christmas morning.
Includes: complete instructions, slats, tinsel stems, straw and a lovely Infant Jesus statue.
Glue or hot glue gun needed to complete the project.
Gregorian Guild Kits are themed on Guilds of the Middle Ages and provide hands-on crafts and learning activities for celebrating the liturgical year. This kit introduces the “Worshipful Company of Carpenters.”
