The "War No More Dove" design captures many elements in one and the purchaser is extended the right to use the design as they wish, both on physical products (shirts, banners, etc.) and for digital use (social media, websites, etc.), but please use appropriate attribution (Designer: Dave McNeely) where possible. Surrounded inside the outline of a dove is the inscription "Isaiah 2:4", which reads "They will beat their swords into plowshares / and their spears into pruning hooks. / Nation will not take up sword against nation, / nor will they train for war anymore" (New International Version). In addition, the neck and the beak of the dove also resemble a hammer which is breaking a rifle (resembling the olive branch traditionally found with images of peace doves). Together, these images hark back not only to the Scriptures that inspire them, but also to the Plowshares movement which has engaged in acts of "liturgical direct action" to eliminate the nuclear threat within the United States. This design is a tribute to the many Plowshares activists and other peacemakers who have worked toward a world where we still study "war no more." Purchase comes with two PNG files, available for immediate download, one which includes the words "War No More" directly underneath the dove.
