This little shore bird has the distinction of being the first of our needle felting kits themed around endangered species of Canada. Piping Plovers come to select beaches in Nova Scotia to breed starting in mid-April and lay their eggs in shallow "nests" among the small stones. They blend in perfectly with their surroundings to protect them from predators, unfortunately it makes them extremely vulnerable to dogs and human feet who accidentally crush them. We can easily lessen this impact by taking our beach walks closer to the waterline in nesting areas.
Our boxed kit contains everything you need to learn how to make a Piping Plover of your own, including all the wool, detailed instructions, ruler and foot pattern, three felting needles, pre-cut wire, pipe cleaner, beads, needle and thread.
Whether you're an absolute (but confident) beginner or someone who has a few felting projects under their belt this Plover will be a delight to make!
Finished Size: approx. 10cm x 12cm (4" x 5")
SHIPPING to UNITED STATES - If you opted for standard shipping instead of the more expensive tracked package please remember that once the package leaves the shop we have no way to check on it's progress and it becomes the responsibility of the postal system. Typically orders crossing the border take a minimum of 14 days to arrive, but it could take more. For this reason we do recommend the Tracked Shipping option.
