This is a maple picture frame showing the beautiful live edge bark that was left on the wood as it was run through the saw mill.
This was finished with a simple tung oil to highlight the natural beauty of the wood.
The frame opening will fit a 8x10 image The included mat is cut for a 5x7 image The foliage print shown in the frame is also included
All of my frames start as a slab of wood from a small local saw mill. The owner collects the trees locally before bringing them back to his mill to rip into boards and dry. I then purchase the wood from him at this point and rip the wood into the desired widths before I start routering in the edgings and space for the glass, mats, and artwork to go. After the moldings are created I cut all my pieces to size to build the frame and then begin assembly. Everything is glued, stapled, and nailed as needed and then any putty is applied if needed before it undergoes the sanding process. Some frames get don't get sanded at all and others get a perfectly smooth flaw free sanding. On most occasions however, I like to leave some of the roughness in the wood. I think it serves a reminder as to where this product came from. This a piece of nature to be enjoyed. It is not compressed wood dust and glue with a plastic veneer which we are all to used to buying at our local big box store. At this point I will decide on coloring of the frame. Sometimes the wood speaks to me through the process of crafting it and I can envision what it's final state will be. Other times I like to try something new and interesting or a customer will give me finish they've already chosen. Once the frame has received its final finish, the mats are cut, artwork mounted, and all the parts and pieces come together to create the final piece. I hope you enjoy these frames as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
I ship via USPS with tracking/delivery conformation and insurance of $100. If the buyer requires anything beyond this, I am happy to add it on at their cost.
I am not responsible for any broken glass during shipping. I try to package things to avoid breakage but cannot guarantee it.
I expect payment to be received within 24 hours of purchasing an item. Once payment is received, I will ship asap but definitely within 3-5 days.
Returns & exchanges
All sales are final. I do my best to photograph my frames in their true likeness. However, colors may vary slightly from the photographs. If damage does occur (to the frame, not the glass) during shipping, I will work with the buyer and the USPS to make sure your money is refunded and would then happily replace the item for the same cost and as close to the originally purchased item as possible. These are handmade frames and they all turn out different.
Please contact me for custom orders. I love building frames to match buyers specific items.
