This listing is for a set of unpainted and I trimmed skulls, spikes and studs to crest your very own Astrid from how to train your dragon cosplay. All pieces are cast from a custom mold sculpted in the DKB studios, the pieces you will receive are raw casts meaning they are unpainted and will require trimming and finishing work. It's that the pictures of painted casts and the completed cosplay are examples of this kit used in our work.
This kit includes:
-12 stylized skulls in varied shapes and sizes for the belt of Astrid's skirt.
-40 spikes in varied shapes and sizes for the skirt, these will be in three different sizes and styles to give a realistic, varied look
-40 studs for Astrid's shoulder pauldrons
Shipping & policies
We highly reccomend purchasing shipping insureance on your product, we can not be held responcible for items once they have left our studio, this includes items lost or damaged by the post service. The shipping rates quoted in each of our listings are the most cost efficient rate, however these rates do not include tracking or insureance- Again, we are not responcible for your product once it leaves our studio and if you have chosen to not purchase additional shipping insureance or tracking and the product is lost or damaged in the post we can not help. WE HIGHLY SUGGEST PURCHASING SHIPPING INSUREANCE AND TRACKING FOR THIS REASON.
We ship weekly, on Fridays. Please bear in mind that if your product is made to order it will take longer to arrive as it is subject to production time. If in doubt please don't hesitate to ask us about our current turn around times.
Depending on our work load, we can occasionally offer rush service- this incurrs an additional fee and varies depending on the product.
We accept payment via paypal, No orders are shipped until full payment is recieved. If you aren't keen on using paypal stike up a conversation with us to arrange another form of payment.
If using our handy payment plans:
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before any custom work will begin on your project, this is due at the time of ordering. The remaining 50% is to be paid in full within 60 days or at the time of pickup/shipment. Failure to pay the balance of the order within 60 days will result in the orders cancellation and the loss of the deposit, the products will become property of Dark Knits Boutique and are subject to re-sale. Payment reminders may or may not be sent and often get stopped by spam filters, Dark Knits Boutique takes no responsibility for payment reminders. We do offer payment plans other that the above listed, these are to be made in writing and signed by both parties, strike up a conversation with us for details.
You may cancel your order for a full refund any time before work has begun on your order, after work has begun the order can not be cancelled. In the event of non-payment the order will be cancelled by Dark Knits Boutique and any deposit paid as well as any products become property of Dark Knits Boutique and are subject to re-sale.
Returns & exchanges
Due to the intimate and often custom nature of our products, we are not able to accept returns, refunds or exchanges. If there is a problem with your product we will do everything in our power to make it right... that said, we are people too and claims must be made within 7 days of receiving your products(s). The products(s) must then be shipped within 72 hours of receiving a shipping label from us (if required) and we will assess on a case by case basis. Any claims or shipments not made within the above time periods will not be considered for complimentary repairs or replacement and will be subject to our regular charge.
Please note, that it is ultimately the clients responsibility that correct measurements are obtained (we suggest a visit to a local tailor if an appointment with us is not suitable), and that the clients individual needs have been clearly addressed.
-Does wearing a corset hurt?
Wearing a corset should never hurt; A properly fitted corset can easily take you in at the waist without causing pain or discomfort. Many people really enjoy the feeling of the ‘all over hug’ that wearing a corset gives. It should be pointed out that during the breaking in process a corset may be a little bit uncomfortable until it shapes to your body and you become used to it.
-Does Dark Knits have a brick and mortar store?
No, we currently operate out of a private studio in Edmonton. For security reasons, we accept scheduled appointments only. If not withing the Edmonton area we can offer online appointments via skype (free to download).
-Do offer more than corsets?
Yes! We offer men's wear, accessories, bridal wear, fetish wear, accessories, hats, and jewelry of all types… almost anything your little heart desires! We especially love creating customized corseted bridal and graduation gowns… because of our love of this sort of work we generally offer a hefty discount if getting an entire outfit- contact us for details! A custom gown may be more accessible than you think!
-I don’t live in Edmonton, Can I still get something from you?
Of course! We ship worldwide and offer remote fitting services to make sure everything is just the way you want it to be!
-Can you breathe while wearing a corset?
If you couldn’t we wouldn’t have nearly as many repeat customers as we do! A corset should always be comfortable, there is no set tightness- just whatever is comfortable for you, if you can’t breathe, it is far too tight!
-Can I send you some fabric I really like to make a corset out of?
You certainly can, but you may be asked to mail in a swatch for us to make sure it is the best possible choice for your corset. Please bear in mind that corsets made out of customer provided fabrics may take longer to produce, may be subject to additional fees and are dependent on our current work load.
-Do you have a phone number?
No we don’t, we disconnected that long ago because of the continual inappropriate calls. If you need to get ahold of us shoot us an e-mail darkknits [!at] gmail.com. By only responding to e-mails it gives us far more time to focus on production, customer satisfaction, photo shoots and personal lives… believe it or not, we really DO have those!
-Do you accept returns?
No, we do not accept returns, please refer to our terms of service policy for details. If there is an issue with your product please contact us within 7 days of receipt with photos and we will do our best to make it right! Please read our terms of service for more details regarding returns!
-How do I buy a gift certificate?
Contact us!! We can arrange gift certificates in almost any denomination!
-How do I clean my corset?
Dry clean only!! Contact a professional dry cleaner for ALL your corset cleaning needs, we are not responsible for damages once an item leaves our studio.
-Is your payment method secure?
Absolutely! We prefer to use PayPal because of its integrated security measures, but can also accept cash, cheque, money order or bank transfers (from Canadian residents only). We will never sell any of your information and it is destroyed after use.
-I need my corset ASAP, do you do rush orders?
Please check our current turnaround time, we try very hard to get you your corset as soon as we can. We do offer a rush service, but it is dependent on our current work load and incurs extra fees. Please contact us for details! Note that for all custom built items our standard turn around time applies. If at all curious about this, please get in touch prior to ordering. Placing an order with us constitutes your acceptance of our turn around times. After all, it takes a great deal of work to make your pieces of awesome!

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

Dark Knits Boutique corsets include a lifetime gaurentee against defects in workmanship. Dark Knits' liability under this warranty is limited to the one time replacement OR repair of defects, at our sole opinion. (this does not cover abuses and improper care of your corset!) No other warrantly, express or impled is made by the seller and none shall be imputed or presumed.
CONTRACT AND CHANGES
All custom work done by Dark Knits Boutique is done so on a contractual basis.
Requests for design changes after the initial order has been placed are at the discretion of Dark Knits Boutique and may be subject to additional charges. Any Contractual changes due to misinformation from a client will be subject to charge at our regular rate. No contractual changes or refunds shall be given after the order for the materials to build the contract item has been placed.
Dark knits may, without liability, delay completion or cancel an order on account of force majeure events or other circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to; strikes, acts of god, political unrest, embargo, failure of source supply, casualty, illness, failure of machinery required to produce goods.
All transactions with Dark knits boutique shall be governed by the laws of the province of Alberta. Any disputes shall be heard in the appropriate provincial courts located in edmonton, Alberta.
MISSED APPOINTMENTS AND CANCELLATIONS
ALL missed appointments will be charged a $50 fee (this includes fitting and remote appointments). If you are more than 30 minutes late for your appointment- it will be considered missed. If a second appointment is booked and also missed, your order will be canceled and any deposit paid or materials received will be non-refundable.

In the event of order cancellation, all deposits paid and materials provided are non-refundable and become Dark Knits Boutique's property. Orders may be cancelled by Dark Knits Boutique in the event of failure to provide complete payment according to the terms agreed upon in the sale contract, client failure to attend appointments on time, client failure to provide measurements or other information required for production such as but not limited to; timely return of remote fitting photos or remote fitting mock-ups.
Occasionally, Dark Knits Boutique may need to contact you in regards to issues with your order, or to obtain your approval before progress may continue. We make every effort to respond to our e-mail within 3-days (If we don't respond, we likely didn't get it-please send again) If our e-mails and calls are not returned within 7 days, your order will be cancelled and subject to the above listed cancellation procedures.
All finished orders must be picked up or shipping arrangements must be made within 30 days of completion- we will inform you of order completion. Dark Knits Boutique is not responsible for any orders left for more than 30 days.
The buyer agrees to treat the seller with respect at all times. Abusive language or gestures will not be tolerated and may result in contract cancellation with the seller keeping any monies paid in lieu of work completed and material costs. The seller may take photos and/or video of the piece(s) at or before the time of pick up.
BORROWING DARK KNITS PRODUCTS
Dark Knits Boutique does loan our products for collaborations- availability is on a first come first served basis, and at our discretion. Please e-mail us for details at; darkknits [!at] gmail.com. Please note that a small fee applies to all loaned products to cover cleaning, steaming, pressing and other costs to bring the products back to new condition after use. A contract must be signed to borrow our products outlining return dates, fees, conditions and penalties if the product is not returned- If a product is not returned, or not in satisfactory condition upon return; the full cost of the product will be charged.
A corset should last you years of safe wear if worn, handled and cared for properly- if you are at all unsure please ask us for details!
Dark Knits Boutique accepts no liability for any loss or damages, including but not limited to damages to personal property or bodily damages caused by wearing our products, or the improper use of any of our products.
We are not responsible for damages caused during shipping (we encourage you insure your package), dry cleaning damage or improper care damages.
Dark Knits Boutique is not responsible for any customs or duties fees incurred during the shipping process.
