Set of 3 Handmade Bisque "Handmade with Love" tags

These gift tags were formed from white speckled Mid-range stoneware clay and patterned with a "Handmade with Love" stamp. I brushed on a red underglaze to the green ware and then bisque-fired to Cone 04. They would make a lovely addition to any handmade or as accents on a craft project! Choose between sets with one hole at the top or two holes on the side for attaching to your gift.

Bisque Tags measure 1 1/4" square

*Attention* Bisqueware is pottery that has been Cone04 fired to become durable, yet still porous. Bisqueware needs to be glazed and the re-fired to reach its final state of vitrification. Acrylic paints can be used to finish your bisqueware with a coating of resin, however the piece would not be considered waterproof or suitable for food use.

FAQs

The process of turning soft clay into a beautiful ceramic piece takes up to 2 weeks to complete! After forming and texturing the clay into the shape desired, it must be allowed to sit until it is bone dry. The greenware is then bisque-fired in the kiln, where the clay is transformed into ceramic. After this first firing, the pieces are sanded, rinsed, and prepared for glazing. Several coats of glaze are applied, allowing the glaze to dry before another coat is applied. The glazed bisque-ware is now ready for its final glaze firing. Each firing takes about 22-24 hours. When the pottery emerges from the second fire, any stilt marks are sanded down and the piece is cleaned, polished and ready for use!
