Just a little note about collecting sea glass: Every piece of glass I sell is FOUND by me. CHOSEN for its own unique color, size, shape, and beauty. I know how much I appreciate and admire it. And I respect the fact it is a part of the environment I find it in. That's one reason I do not use buckets or shovels or any type of excavation tools to gather glass. I take a small baggie or two and spend hours at a time picking and choosing each piece on beaches made of it. Never have been the type of person that feels comfortable and guilt-free taking more than I think I should. There are some people who feel removing even one piece from its natural environment is wrong. I disagree.
The thing to remember about the sea glass I sell here is its natural environment began as a dump- - -Knowing that makes dating its origin pretty easy. EPA put the skids on disposing of garbage anywhere near places like the BEACH way back in the early 1970s. Or so the story goes and as I have been told and learned from personal research.
Nothing lasts forever. This includes the glass on glass beaches. Nature has turned bottles, dinner plates, cups, planter pots, picture frames, taillights, and other refuse glass into the beautiful shards of smooth glass we all love. The glass that remains on the beach will eventually be tumbled into grains of sand.
