Item details

This hand thrown yarn bowl features vintage botanical illustrations from the Rudebeckia/Coneflower family, including black eyed and brown eyed susans.

Thrown on the wheel I then altered its shape by pulling and twisting in targeted areas until its true character emerged. It has a slot and multiple holes to thread your yarn through.

Glazed a speckled cream outside with amber inside.

It measures about 6-1/4" across, and 4-1/4" tall.

The botanical images are from Britton, N.L., and A. Brown - An illustrated flora of the northern United States, Canada and the British Possessions published in 1913. They were permanently applied with a third firing. The glazes are of course lead free and food safe.

I signed the bottom with my studio name "Just Mare."
