This is a PDF knitting pattern- NOT the finished item shown in the photographs
Having already made some knitted Christmas cards I couldn’t resist having a garland/ banner to match. You can mix and match penguins and owls with hats and scarves to make your own personal design.
Full instructions, with lots of photos, for how to assemble your finished garland are included in the pattern. Only uses knit, purl and increasing/ decreasing stitches.
I made mine with double knit (worsted) weight wool, which gives birds about 9cm (3.5 inches) wide by 7cm (2.8 inches) tall. You can use as many birds as you want to make the banner any length. You can also use different wool weights to make the birds bigger or smaller.
The only stitches used are knit, purl, increase and decrease so it is a reasonably straightforward pattern.
This is a PDF knitting pattern- and you will be able to download it as soon as your payment is processed. In order to open the PDF files you will need Adobe Reader.
