Item details

This pack includes 60 vintage vector graphics featuring gentlemen, lords and ladies sourced from an antique book from the late 1800's. They are all engraved portraits of historical figures, including prominent businessmen, generals, presidents, scientists, actors, artists, writers, religious figures and Queen Victoria herself. 6 women and 54 men are included. Each image is provided to you in both eps (CS2+) and png (5" at tallest point) formats. They have only been altered minimally from the original scans, so they are perfectly authentic antique images. They are all colored black, but you can colorize them yourself in your graphics program.

These portraits are fabulous for packaging and branding design. If you're in need of a gentleman with impressive facial hair, there are plenty of beards, mustaches and chops here!

Each image is named as well, so you know who is who in the mix.

Ames, David Livingstone, Edgar Allan Poe, Edwin Forrest, Elias Howe, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Elizabeth Stuart Phelps, Emanuel Swedenborg, Frederick Douglass, George Cruikshank, George MacDonald, George Peabody, George Pullman ,George Washington, George William Curtis, Herbert Spencer, Isaac Pitman, J.W. UPDATED 5/2/14:

You CAN:

You CANNOT:

•You can’t give away, share, resell or redistribute the graphics on their own. If you have a friend that wants to use the graphics, please refer them to my store.
•You can’t post the stand-alone graphics as they are on your website or blog in a manner that would make them available to download.
•You cannot use the graphics in a new work where the individual graphics can be extracted from the final file, such as a layered .psd file.
•You can’t claim copyright of the graphics individually or in a collection.

*This excludes the {regards} by Eclectic Anthology printable, royalty-free greeting card graphics and any graphics marked as for personal use only.

Commercial Use in a Website/Blog Design:
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

If the graphics are used in a website/blog design, it is requested (but not required) that you do a couple of extra things.

•A credit line on every page of the website/blog or at the bottom of the template that says something like “Some graphical elements by Eclectic Anthology”.
•Hyperlink the words “Eclectic Anthology” to http://www.eclecticanthology.com.

{regards} by Eclectic Anthology
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

{regards} by Eclectic Anthology are royalty free, printable greeting cards that you can resell on your website, eBay, in your brick and mortar store, craft fairs or anywhere that you want. Once purchased, you have the right to either print these cards yourself, or have them printed at a professional printer as many times as you wish. You may sell the printed cards at whatever cost you choose, and the profit is yours. The copyright of the design remains with Eclectic Anthology, so you may not remove the credit badge from the back of the card design. You may not give away, share, resell or redistribute the digital graphic of the card design in any form.

Public Domain Images
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

*Public domain: Works in the public domain (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_domain) are those whose intellectual property rights have expired, been forfeited, or are inapplicable. In the United States copyright law states that a creative work that was registered or published before 1923 (http://copyright.cornell.edu/resources/publicdomain.cfm) falls into the public domain. Individual public domain works cannot be protected by copyright, because they are owned by all. Collections of public domain works may be protected by copyright, however. (http://fairuse.stanford.edu/Copyright_and_Fair_Use_Overview/chapter8/8-a.html)

If a set of graphics on this site is listed as believed to be in the public domain (research is done to ensure that the graphics were published before 1923), there are no limitations on the usage of these images. You are only restricted in that you can't redistribute the collection/compilation as it is, because that is copyrighted.
