This lovely heather grey yarn is the collaboration of my two grey alpaca's fleeces, Comanche and Andraya. The color leans more towards a taupe brown/grey and would be a fabulous sweater! Each skein is approximately 250 yards and weighs about 4 ounces.
Suri alpaca fiber feels as soft as cashmere, is warmer than wool, and has the luster of silk. It contains no lanolin. It has an elegant drape, blends well with other fibers, comes in a variety of natural colors, and is versatile and strong. It also dyes beautifully.
This yarn may contain a minute amount of vegetable matter (vm) and was hand skirted at our farm. The process of hand skirting means I personally laid hands on my fleece and diligently tried to remove as much foreign matter as possible.
This yarn was spun by Stonehedge Fiber Mill, a pure Michigan business, located in East Jordan. The fiber was nurtured by us at Zephyr Hill Farm located in the heart of Michigan, the mitten state.
