Completely individual this frame is unique and made from natural slate - perfect for displaying your favourite photograph whilst adding its own beautiful statement to your home décor.
The slate is carefully cut and fixed to a wooden backboard for strength and structure and the overall size is 19 x 14 cms. Your photo will fit neatly into the display space measuring 9 x 7 cms, where it is protected by a crystal clear acrylic glass (2mm thick) and then backed by a small wooden backing panel with metal twist catches. The frame has a metal curl upstand on the back for standing your frame upright.
Please note that as the frame is completely handmade with individual pieces of slate (not cut from one flat piece) there are rustic edges and undulations to the surface aswell as variations in the natural colour. The finish of the backing panel is handcrafted and not machined … this accentuates the character of the frame and should not be seen as detrimental in any way.
Take time to look at all of the photos of the frame before buying and be re-assured that if you go ahead and buy this frame it will be carefully packaged to ensure that it reaches you in good order – you’ll not be disappointed! Any questions please ask and read on for a little more information, thank you
Each of these wonderful handmade slate items is designed by myself and completely unique … I use salvaged slate which is etched by nature with its own remarkable story of geology and displaying the most beautiful characteristics of completely natural slate. Because of this the slate displays variations of colour and shapes to the surface and edges and can also contain sparkling glimpses of quartz.
Anyone who loves the natural beauty of this rock will appreciate adding one of my original items to their home or giving it as an extra special gift.
The passion with which each piece is designed and created is clear to see and every care has been taken to ensure that each item is finished to a high standard but please be aware that as these items are made from natural slate there may be sharp edges to the rock and some ‘surface cleaving’ may occur which can slightly change the appearance but will not alter the overall shape and size of the item – I feel that this actually adds to the appeal of these beautiful items that can sometimes continue to evolve.
Please take the time to look at my other items for sale as I continue to work on more creations including clocks, mirrors, and candle holders and you are welcome to contact me for any further information. I do also create beautiful bespoke items so please get in touch if you would like to commission a special item
