FAQs

Check out eBay for 5/16" or 1/4" knitted elastic. I always used a seller by the name of ny-sale.

In Adobe Acrobat Reader, make sure your settings are set to "Actual Size" before hitting the print button, otherwise the printer will often shrink to fit or stretch to fit it to the printer paper, thus distorting the sewing pattern.

For the top fabric, always use a 4-way stretch fabric, and for the liner fabric, I always loved using either swim 4-way stretch liner, or 4-way stretch cotton lycra.

E-6000 is my favorite, but be careful, it does have fumes that need ventilated. Read all safety information before use.

I always use the glass-type rhinestones, such as Swarovski, Preciosa, or Allora. Avoid using acrylic, and stick to flat back rhinestones. I do not like using hotfix, only due to the fact that they take longer to apply. My most used sizes for rhinestones are 16ss, 20ss, and 30ss on suits.

Unfortunately, this is my MOST frequently asked question, as well as most difficult one to answer. I used to have a local supplier, but they went out of business. It is very difficult to find sellers, but my recommendation is to search here on Etsy because we have a great resource of sellers. Due to this being so difficult, I created a sewing pattern, that's now in my store, that specifically addresses the issue by teaching you how to create your own foam cup for a molded cup top. It is the Classic Style Top, go check it out!

Please check out my sewing videos at youtube.com/jodilane because I have several helpful sewing videos that address some of the more complicated steps! I hope this helps!

Husqvarna Emerald 183. I purchased it in 2011, and it's still going strong! Which ever machine you choose, I highly recommend one with a drop-in bobbin. They are the absolute BEST. http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/en-US/Machines/EMERALD-183

All your machine needs is the ability to do a straight stitch and a zig zag stitch. My sewing patterns are designed so that anyone can use them with the simplest of tools!

Pattern was easy to follow and offers great technique for people who don't have access to a serger. I have never sewn with stretchy fabric, but this pattern and JL's vids really helped me get over the fear of sewing with stretchy fabric. I also think that her patterns would be super adaptable!
