Feel inspired to hand spin your own beautiful yarn with this beautifully unique drop spindle. Crafted by hand in our studio, this top whorl drop spindle features a perfectly weighted ceramic whorl, on our hand-cut hardwood poplar dowel. The unique patterned ceramic whorl will be sure to have heads turn to watch you spin, and the grooved design makes it easy to catch and wind your yarn up to the hook. This spindle is perfect for spinning all types of fibers and rovings into yarn.
This spindle would make the perfect unique gift for the hand spinner and fiber enthusiast in your life! It is perfectly sized to fit into a bag or purse to take your spinning on the go!

WOOD BALM SAMPLE
Our all natural handcrafted wood balm leaves any wooden item feeling silky smooth and sealed under a natural protective layer. Perfect for using on your drop spindles, spinning wheels, weaving looms, or any other wooden tool (or furniture!) in your home. The natural oil in the balm nourishes the wood while the beeswax provides a glossy moisture proof seal. We’ve also added Lavender, Rosemary, and Lemongrass Essential Oils to our wood balm, so it is naturally antibacterial as well as repellent to any moths or other yucky insects that may try to come near your yarn or fiber stash! We really can’t see a downside to this balm- In addition to it being 100% natural, it smells amazing and is completely non-toxic and skin safe (unlike most harsh chemical wood polishes).
We recommend this drop spindle for a more experienced hand spinner, or else used above a soft surface (such as a carpet) while learning, since the ceramic whorl (while very sturdy) can possibly break if dropped onto a very hard surface. If you are just learning to hand spin on a drop spindle, we recommend one of our completely wooden drop spindles with wooden whorls. :)
