About the author: Erna Jansons was born in Latvia and studied professionally to become an accomplished Textile Artist. She left her home country of Latvia in 1944 during World War II for Germany and later immigrated to Wisconsin with her family. She continues to perfect her craft and share her love of authentic Latvian art with others in her community. Today she creates many forms of art including drawings depicting folk tales and yes, she still knits at 96 years young!
