Color - Bacchus 1 This is the first yarn skein I have listed from my very own alpaca, Bacchus. I have had him for many years and have included his fiber in many skeins. This is the first one that is 100% Bacchus. I recently had his fiber professionally cleaned and prepared for spinning and then I spun it by hand on my Ashford Traditional spinning wheel. It is gorgeous! This is his natural color, no dye was used. Very dark brown/black in its natural splendor.
Extra Large Skein! Approx 7 oz, 286 yards of natural color alpaca. 2 Ply handspun yarn. Averaging from 10-13 WPI Medium Weight Yarn.
A message about plying yarn. Plying the singles gives them balance. A single strand pulls in the direction it was spun. Spinning two or three of these spun singles in the opposite direction balances out the twist so it won't pull either way. Plying also increases the strength of the yarn and adds elasticity.
Check your pattern recommendations to be sure if this yarn is suitable for your needs. Hand wash and lay flat to dry. Color varies from monitor to monitor. I have tried to offer the most reliable photos as possible.
I ship USPS 1st class mail for all orders under 13 ounces unless you request otherwise. After 13 ounces all orders are mailed priority mail. If you live outside the USA the same rules apply. If you want insurance let me know and I will bill you for the cost. I am not responsible for your package if it doesn't arrive so get insurance if you are worried about it. I have NEVER (to date June 2016) had a package not arrive safe and sound with or without insurance!
I am fairly relaxed about payments. If you order and haven't paid I will let you know. If you fail to communicate with me I will wait at least a week (more if I have dealt with you before:) to cancel the sale and move on.

I want you to be happy with your purchase. If you are unhappy for any reason PLEASE contact me and give me the opportunity to make you happy:)
I have a non smoking home but I do have a cat. I store my yarn away from the cat but he does live here so if you are deathly allergic to cats you should be aware of this.
