Item details

This mini quilt came about because I wanted to make more realistic looking cat faces. I used wool backgrounds and appliques, and wool fibers. Wool fibers have barbs on the them. A felting tool that I use, (clover #8901) has three barbed needles. I use it to poke wool fibers into the applique which is sitting on the 6" square wool background. You need a piece 2" thick of upholstery foam under your project to protect your leg or the table while felting .Simple hand embroidery stitching goes on top of the "fur", and the eyes are also embroidered with pearl cotton.
The quilt in this photo is15" x 15". There is also a downloadable version of this pattern in my listings for people in foreign countries. PDFs save postage and can be downloaded immediately.
