Living in Northern Ohio, it gets cold during winter. Sometimes, it gets downright frigid! Necessity is the momma of all inventions, and while I did not invent the wheel here, I did design a crochet pattern that fit my busy hands comfortably, and a friend in New York that wanted a long pair of fancy cool gloves! I needed a wrist warmer that moved with my hands, and my love of dragons drew me to design these awesome gloves!
PDF file contains step-by-step instructions for crocheting these hand warmers / wristlets / fingerless gloves. Lots of photos help support the instructions along the way. I used the Red Heart "Unforgettable" line of yarns, but any size 3 or airy-spun size 4 like the Unforgettable will work. (I would rate the RHU as more of a size 3)
NOTE: Mary Maxim Prism yarns are very close in size to the Unforgettable, and works up beautifully as well.
Size F hook Uses basic stitches, and the dragonscale (also called crocodile stitch) is spelled out step-by-step for crocheters new to this stitch.
If you are a Confident Beginner or Advanced crocheter, you should have no problems with this pattern. They are a little time-consuming, but the results are worth the time.
Pattern is written for functional button cuffs, but also has an alternate closed cuff in the instructions. NOTE: If you use a thin size 4 yarn like Caron Simply Soft, the gloves will be a little bigger, so step down one size of the pattern (i.e. use the small size counts for the medium final glove).
Make a pair for yourself, your bestie, you mom & grandma & favorite aunt!
Pattern uses basic crochet skills, i.e. single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, slipstitch, and clusters & shells. You need to know how to crochet in-the-round for this pattern. Written in english crochet terms.
If any instructions are confusing, just convo me, I am here to help.
