The Ezy Peazy Peasant Dress 'n Top has taken a familiar favorite and jazzed it up with simplified construction and oodles of options. You'll cut garments with ONE pattern piece. How's that for ezy?
Sized for standard 18" dolls, such as the American favorite, the casual fit of the Ezy Peazy means that it works for a variety of dolls! This includes 15" baby dolls such as the bitty favorite. You'll find it fits many other dolls in the 15" to 18" height range, too.
The Ezy peazy cuts the cap, short, 3/4 or long sleeves all-in-one with the garment. If you're familiar with my Ezy T it's the same great concept. You also get a choice of 7 garment lengths from a crop top to a floor length gown. Consider the possible combinations, it's mind-boggling.
The Ezy Peazy is designed with a comparatively narrow peasant silhouette. Add elastic at the empire waist or natural waistline for a more defined fit.
Hate elastic? I'll walk you through elastic casings and direct elastic application, with ezy tips for both! Don't like bias tape? The Ezy Peazy does not require it. There is, however, an option for it in case it's your favorite! There's even a wrapped bias trim method that gives a cute contrast edge to the neckline and sleeves.
Think the peasant style is just for play wear? Think again? Be inspired by our photo gallery with 16 darling nighties, Princess gowns, Angel costumes - even western wear! Yahoo, Cowgirl, let's round up all the fun ideas! (the photo gallery includes tips from the pattern test team, too!)
Got a serger but afraid to use it much? The Ezy Peazy includes both standard methods and serger methods for construction. Ezy Peazy projects are great for learning to incorporate the serger into your sewing process. I've included my personal tips and favorite informational sources, too.
How about some bonus worksheets? Learn to make a 'skimp' dress, blouson or peplum top with your Ezy Peazy pattern. Use cording, fold over elastic and found objects to dress up those waistlines with a few quick and ezy belting ideas.
Ezy peazy tops can be made with just 1/4 yard of lightweight fabric. Tunics or dresses require 1/3 yard , and full length gowns require 1/2 yard. Designed for woven fabrics, the Ezy Peazy can be made from stable or slightly-stretchy knit fabric, as well.
This pattern assumes basic sewing skills but you'll receive detailed instructions with photos. My patterns are written in an easy, conversational style. I'll be right there with you at the machine!
