Get 'em started young! With a very small handful of LEGO brand bricks children as young as 3-years old can begin to build these simple LEGO patterns.
There are 24 LEGO Patterns included in this kit. Ranging from very simple symmetrical patterns and building to patterns that require more complexity and problem solving skills.
Recognizing and building patterns is an essential step in childhood development and mathematical reasoning Encouraging a child’s understanding of patterns has been shown to contribute to their counting strategy development, problem solving, generalizations about number combinations, and algebraic thinking.
All of the designs on the pattern cards can either be made with 1x or 2x LEGO bricks (See the image above for the list of bricks required to complete these pattern cards). Each pattern card is to scale so that little ones can compare their creation to the picture on the card to ensure that they are on track.
The pattern cards are perfectly sized to fit into a 4x6 photo book, while the amount of bricks needed can fit perfectly in a small size zip-able sandwich bag. Alternately, they can also be laminated and bound with a binder ring to fit perfectly inside a pencil box or pouch along with the amount of LEGO's needed to complete the patterns.
This compact kit is great to keep in a purse or a diaper bag for a quiet activity on car rides, at a restaurant, doctor's appointments, or even a quiet focus activity at church.
