PDF file for download, provided in A4 and US letter format. It contains a pattern and detailed steps for how to make a dress for a Blythe doll.

Included is also basic instructions for 3 different ways to vary the dress; one of the variations is the white dress in the last photo in this listing.

Skill level: Basic. The instructions are quite detailed. The price includes support via email.

This design is my all time favourite: I have been using it for a long time, as it provides a wonderful basis for a wide variety of styles. The outside may have looked similar for a long time, but the inside - and the steps - have evolved as I have figured out better ways to get the result I want. The instructions show how I sew, and more importantly, what I do to the dresses after sewing.

The document is 32 pages altogether, out of which 22 are step-by-step instructions with photos. The pattern page needs to be printed.

A text-only version of the instructions is provided for printing, in case you prefer to read from paper, but don't want to empty your ink cartridges.

Required materials/tools:

• Scissors, cardstock, glue stick, ruler
• Printer
• Sewing machine that does straight stitch and zigzag
• Cotton fabric and matching thread
• A pair of locking forceps. Mine are 16 cm/6’’. I bought them on Ebay. They are used for turning the bodice.
• Fabric marking tool(s)
• Iron
• Pins and sewing needle
• Blunt knitting needle or point turner
• A pair of small snaps
• A Blythe doll with a regular body

The pattern, instructions, and photos are for personal, non-commercial use only. They may not be shared, sold or otherwise distributed. Clothes made from the pattern may not be sold, except with my explicit permission. Please feel free to ask. Tirin & Katten is a Norwegian business and adheres to Norwegian law.

This pattern is simply wonderful! The dress design is lovely, the perfect combination of simplicity and fine tailoring details -- and yet, as Eva points out, it can be varied in so many ways. I am proficient in sewing, but new to sewing for dolls, and the instructions in this pattern are so valuable -- not only are they clear and easy to follow for making the dress, but Eva has generously shared tips and tricks for working at this small scale that will be useful on other projects, too. So -- a lovely dress pattern and intro to sewing for Blythe dolls as well. '; )
