I am not an expert on vintage Chenille or vintage linens. I can only let you know what I've done with my fabrics and what worked or didn't work for me especially with washing the pieces.
Washing vintage chenille some say to only use cold water, only use delicate agitation, and to line dry. Recently I've started using only Dreft baby laundry detergent. I've stopped using Tide and won't use anything that strong. I only use OxiClean and Biz when I'm trying to remove stains and such from vintage linen I've purchased. I use 20 Mule Team Borax, it is a natural fabric softener and helps brighten up the fabrics. Do not use OxiClean or similar harsh products with fabrics that contain Lurex (metallic threads) as it will disintegrate the threads. I do use cold water and I do use the dryer. Do not let the quilts sit wet, dry promptly.
Many of the older chenille bedspreads were not dyed until after they were made and the dyes used back then were not as colorfast as today's fabrics.
Certainly wash by sorting your colors. If any of my chenille pieces have been over dyed, or I suspect they have been I will inform you. I DO NOT over dye any of my chenille pieces or items I make. I will suggest that you not only was in cold water but add several Shout Color Catchers in the wash cycle to "catch" any colors that may bleed and add some distilled white vinegar to the rinse cycle which will help the colors from bleeding. This is just for precautionary measures. Again, please know that I DO NOT over-dye anything myself, but may have purchased it that way. Certainly wash by sorting your colors.
Note to any collector of vintage linens you may want to use cleaning products especially recommended for older fabrics & linens.
If you are looking for something in particular, please send me a message, I just might have what you are looking for, or maybe know someone else who does.
I am looking for good customer service and a great shopping experience for you, so please ask me questions and give me good feedback.
