Item details

Wee Bonnie is a lace weight 2 ply wool yarn which comes from our flock of Shetland sheep. All our yarns are natural-color... just the way our Heritage and Rare Breed sheep grew it for you. This one is a lovely warm heathered oatmeal color produced by Wee Bonnie herself. It's perfect for knitting shawls and other intricate designs like traditional Hap shawls from Shetland. Each skein is approximately 250 yds.

All of our wool is grown on our PA Century Farm which has been in my family for over 100 years. The farm is also on the National Register of Historic Places. We are committed to raising the more unusual livestock, rather than following the crowd and raising the big commercial sheep with yucky wool and tasteless meat. We hope you will support us in our mission.

For more information about rare and heritage breeds, please visit the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy at www.livestockconservancy.org or www.leicesterlongwool.org and thanks for looking at our little 'shop'.
