Item details

Hand-painted and varnished paper beads in two styles - bicone and tube beads - with eyelets in the ends, accented with dark purple and blue seed beads jewel tone beauties. The stretchy cord supplied is 14 inches so plenty for any wrist or maybe a necklace. There is enough material to make a loose bracelet for a larger wrist or a smaller bracelet for the smaller wrist.

A 1/8 inch bead roller is included (though can be eliminated and price reduced by $5). You 'll need white glue, like Aileen's Tacky or Elmer's, and water-based varnish like Liquitex Gloss Varnish for painting the beads' edges after having been rolled up and glued into shape.

I paint and draw and decorate every surface available so paper beads are an extension of that creative energy turned into this fun, lightweight jewelry item. Bicone bead papers are surprising upon being rolled up while the tube shaped paper beads are a fairly obvious end result.

FAQs

Be careful around water, rain, & snow. I use a high quality varnish (5-6 coats, total) on finished products and it is very good but not perfect. And, that's just my own work ethic. You get bead paper with just three coats of varnish on the surface; it's up to you to apply more to your beads after rolling them, especially on the ends where the paper has not been varnished at all.

Do you have a favorite color or two or combo of three? I work with you to make a pleasing palette before you okay and give me the go-ahead to create bead paper or finished beads. Prices become negotiable depending on design complexity, time spent, and number of revisions. Communication is everything. / I have been painting since the mid-1970's (yes, that long) and I am pretty good with manipulating color.
