The little black dress was one of the great fashion innovations of the 1920's and this dress is an elegant example of the early designs of the garment. The model resembles closely the first little black dresses designed by Coco Chanel during then latter part of the decade. The dress has beautiful lines created by the decorative seams of the bodice and the shape of the yoke. It has a slim silhouette and nicely fitted hip yoke teamed with a flouncy skirt, which allows one move with ease. The only decoration is the simple top stiching or embroidery on the front yoke (included in the pattern). The lovely dress is aimed at daily use and it is quite easy to sew.
This is a ready-made, complete printable pattern of a little black dress from the 1920's. The pattern was published in April 1929 in a German fashion magazine called „Modenzeitung fürs Deutsche Haus“. The pattern is made to fit a person with the following measurements: bust 96 cm or 38 ins, waist 76 cm or 30 ins and hip 106 cm or 42 ins, but due to the simple, straight cut, the model is very easy to enlarge or make smaller.
