A native berry to Western South America the Cape Gooseberry is an easy to grow prolific fruiting bush that produces lots of tasty edible berries. Related to many familiar plants such as potato, tomato, peppers, eggplant but quite different than those foods we all love. The berries form hanging on the plant inside a papery husk like a tomatillo or Chinese lantern and fall to the ground a little premature and finish ripening on the ground inside their husk. They can be picked up and stored for some time if left inside the husk. Tangy yet sweet when fully ripe and orange they make a wonderful berry for pies, jellies, salads, and right out of hand! This listing is for 100 fresh viable seeds. Directions will be included.
