THREE PATTERNS INCLUDED! Welcome to Colorful Colorado, Mountain Baby & Pueblo Mesa
For individual patterns, please see my other listings.

WELCOME TO COLORFUL COLORADO
66” x 81” Lap, Small Twin or Wall Quilt
Intermediate/Advanced Skill Level

WELCOME TO COLORFUL COLORADO is inspired by the geography and beauty of the state of Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. This quilt can be viewed two ways. Vertically, it’s as if you are standing in the prairie with the sun setting behind the mountains. Horizontally, it represents the geographic segments of Colorado: with the Mesas on the West, the Rocky Mountains in the middle, and the Plains on the East.

This quilt won Honorable Mention (Modern Quilt category) at the 2014 Des Moines AQS Quilt Show, and was displayed in the 2015 Quilt Con Quilt Show.

MATERIALS & SUPPLIES
FABRIC: 1/4 YARD – 1/2 YARD of 44 different fabrics
BINDING FABRIC: 2/3 yard
BACKING FABRIC: 5 yards
BATTING: 72’’ x 87’’
–Water-soluble fabric marker or light tape
–A couple of rulers. A long, 6 1/2” wide ruler with a 45 degree angle line works best for cutting most pieces.

Included in the 13 pages if this pattern are in-depth cutting and piecing instructions, Kona color equivalents listed for each of the 44 colors, detailed full color cutting and sewing diagrams, and quilting suggestions.

MOUNTAIN BABY
40” x 50” Baby Quilt
Intermediate Skill Level

Mountain Baby is a cropped and simpler version of the Welcome to Colorful Colorado quilt. The colors and quilting are inspired by the song “America the Beautiful” (written by Katharine Lee Bates in 1893 after visiting the top of Pikes Peak in Colorado): spacious skies, amber waves of grain and purple mountain majesties. The quilting in the mountains is inspired by the plants and animals of Rocky Mountain National Park.

MATERIALS & SUPPLIES
MOUNTAIN fabric: Fat Quarter of each (8 colors total)
SKY & PLAINS fabric: 3/4 of a yard each (2 colors total)
BINDING FABRIC: 1/2 yard (for 2 1/2” wide binding)
BACKING FABRIC: 1 1/2 yard
BATTING: 46” x 56”
-Water-soluble fabric marker or light tape
-Ruler with a 45 degree angle line

Included in the 12 pages if this pattern are in-depth cutting and piecing instructions, and detailed full color cutting and sewing diagrams. Also included is an alternate color scheme, and full quilting design suggestions with to-scale animal icons.

PUEBLO MESA
48” x 60” Lap Quilt
Intermediate Skill Level

The PUEBLO MESA quilt pattern is a variation of the Welcome to Colorful Colorado quilt. It uses a section of the mesas in Colorado quilt, and duplicates and reflects the section to create a new pattern. The pattern that emerged reminds me of designs created by the Pueblo people, found in artifacts at the cliff dwellings of Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado.

MATERIALS & SUPPLIES
FABRIC: 6 Fat Quarters, 6 Half Yards (12 different fabrics total)
BINDING FABRIC: 1/2 yard (for 2 1/2” wide binding)
BACKING FABRIC: 3 yards
BATTING: 54” x 66”
–Ruler with a 45 degree angle line
–Water-soluble fabric marker or light tape (for labeling fabric and pieces)

Included in the 7 pages if this pattern are in-depth cutting and piecing instructions, and detailed full color cutting and sewing diagrams. Also included are alternate quilt arrangements, an alternate color scheme, and quilting suggestions.
