Item details

**NOTE: This is for the KNITTING PATTERN, not the socks themselves**

This listing is for the Roman Forum Socks PATTERN which is a toe-up sock pattern using 2 different fingering weight yarns for size Medium.

These are Fair-Isle knitted socks and the pattern is suitable for advanced beginner to intermediate knitters. Pattern includes color charts for the instep and foot. The pattern is in digital (.pdf) form form and is available for instant download.

A bit about the sample socks:
When I was younger (and more adventurous) I spent a month back-packing through Italy … alone! It was a once-in-a-lifetime trip and this pattern was inspired by the beautiful marble columns that support the ancient buildings in the Roman Forum. These socks feature a center cable and rows of alternating stitches between the cables.

Medium size uses One (1) 50-gram ball of Main Color, One (1) 50-gram ball of Contrast color.

FAQs

I strive to photograph each item as color accurate as possible, however each monitor will show the images differently. Please allow for some color differences due to the inconsistencies with monitor color calibration.

Handwashing all handmade and hand-dyed products in COOL water with a mild wool soap, then laying flat to dry will aid in prolonging the life of the garment. Using hot water can break the chemical bonds in the dyed item causing the dye to bleed, so please use cool water for washing.
