Item details

Many Temari makers like to include a noisemaker in the mari as they make it; indeed it's traditional with some Japanese makers through history. The "noise" is usually either a rattle or bell, and a container is needed for either one. It's much easier to use these little guys rather than making a holder from cardboard.
These 2-piece spheres are about an inch in diameter. They snap together very easily, and can be easily reopened with a gentle pinch (unlike some others that have to be broken to be opened). Place some rice, dried peas or beans, etc. inside, or use a small jingle bell. Snap the top and bottom sections together, bury the capsule in your mari core material, and you're all set.

Please keep these away from small children as they can be a choking hazard.

I just starting temari. These are so great! I can't wait to make one with a bell or a shaker inside.
