As fellow yarnies know, organizing your yarn stash can be a daunting task.... The biggest question is "Where do I start?"
I asked myself that question a million times!!! I have tons of yarn and have always wondered what the best method was to know ALL of the yarn that I have in my stash, and I wasn't getting rid of any of it because well... you just never know when you get a request for a hat in THAT yarn! LOL!
I found so many organization files online, but nothing taylored to the trading card sleeve you can buy in your local Walmart or Staples, and ones that I did find were for Fabric... which is fine if you're a seamstress or quilter, which I am not. Soooooooooooooooo, I made it a mission to make a file that I could use to keep track and organize my ever growing stash.
What you are purchasing: A digital download file (PDF) of a front and back of these trading cards. They measure 2 1/3" x 3 3/8" and come on a sheet of 8 per page. On the front it includes a space to put a yarn swatch sample and to record the Brand, Color, Yarn Weight and Yardage, What store you bought it from (or online website) and what the yarn cost. The back of the card has a generous space to cut a part of the label out (usually best for the fiber content and/or care instructions). There are no credits to my company printed on these, but you are not allowed to sell my cards or PDF's as a finished product. They are for your own personal use only.
What I do with these files, is I place an order online with my local Staples store for them to be printed on 110# white cardstock, double sided head to head and I cut them out as I need them. It costs me $6.70 plus tax for an order of 20 sheets printed front and back in black and white. Well worth the small investment to organize my stash, PLUS now I have a binder to take with me to the craft store or to show a customer if they are not sure about whether that shade of pink is what they are looking for.
