Como is a light blue, reminiscent of the lake in Italy. This colour is made from natural indigo, which is a colour that has a mind of its own. Hence, all batches are unique and often marbled. I find this to be a lovely addition to the ribbon; capturing that moment in time.
All of my ribbons are 100% silk and all are hand dyed by me, in my studio using natural, botanical dyes. These processes - sometimes taking many days to achieve - lend a beautiful, layered glow to the ribbon.
The 1" ribbon is bias-cut and has a little bit of stretch as well as a seam every three yards or so as a result.
The 1" ribbon is available in 1, 3 and 6 yard lengths.
My ribbons are colourfast.
Nettle's products are colour-fast and can be washed by hand using gentle soap if needed.
All of my ribbons are sent on hand made wooden spools, perfect for styled shoots and keepsakes. The spools are no longer stamped on the ends.
Nettle now has a studio in Whitstable, on the Kent coast in England AND one in Portland, Oregon. This means that orders ship from two locations:
* Ribbon orders to the US and Canada ship from Portland, Oregon, within 3-5 days
* Ribbon orders to the UK, Ireland, Europe and the rest of the world ship from Whitstable, within 3-5 days
* Special orders, table linens and styling fabric ship from England. Occasionally, as in the case where more stock is needed to be ordered in order for a large request to be filled, this may take a little longer. We'll discuss that when organizing a special or large order.
If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm here to help! I respond to messages as quickly as possible but on exceptionally busy days it may take me a few hours to get back to you. ...
Delivery cannot be guaranteed by a certain date unless you'd like to purchase extra shipping to cover next day delivery. If that is the case, please contact me and I can set that up for you.
Some international orders may be subject to import taxes or customs, which I cannot control. These are determined by your country's government and may be collected by the shipping courier at the time of delivery. Your local postal authority will have more information about customs fees, duties and taxes specific to your location.
Occasionally customs inspections in your country may slow the delivery of your order. We have no control over this and are not responsible for any such hold ups.
Orders around UK are sent 'signature required' which I have found is the most cost effective way to make sure they don't wander off.
Expedited shipping is available for an additional cost. Please contact me if you'd like to add that on.
Payment is required before shipping. I accept all Etsy-facilitated payments.
Returns & exchanges
I don't accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
Additional return information
I regret that I am unable to offer refunds for my ribbons and textiles. I offer store credit under certain circumstances and providing that the order is returned to me in the condition that it arrived and within 30 days. A restocking fee may be charged on a case by case basis.
Alternative widths and shades of colour are almost always available. Just ask!
Wholesale: Since my textiles are made by hand in small batches, in order to ensure the high quality and attention to detail for which my customers are looking, it's not possible to make them to a scale that would facilitate wholesale prices.
A modest discount, however, is available on orders over 100 yards.
