I have experimented with an endless variety of zippers... both metal and plastic.
There are several problems with recycled zippers... quality and condition of the zipper and not enough zipper for an average project. It's quite surprising how much zipper you need for an average sized brooch.. of course this depends on the size and complexity of the design.
This really is an excellent zipper to work with, it has a somewhat soft polyester blend edge that is easy to trim and manipulate. The brass teeth are the perfect shade of antique gold and a lovely compliment to just about every color you can think of.
I'd also like to mention that the size of the brass teeth are just right, not too small or too big. This last feature is very important if you want to work a lot of detail and curves into a project. I am offering this 1" wide zipper tape in a continuous length of 3 yards.
