Part of my John Emr stash of course. Definitely new old stock.
These are part of a huge stash of antique and vintage ultra high quality and rarely seen buttons of mine that I've been collecting over the past 35 years or so. The majority of them have come from my 'former life' as a designer, and it is time for me to de-stash. I used to buy buttons in bulk directly from John Emr, the owner of Emr Brothers Pearl Button company, one of the Pre-eminent and first pearl button companies in America. He was fourth generation button man, and his company was the manufacturer of buttons that then distributed to the major wholesalers across the country, and across the world, for that matter. To this day, from time to time, one of the major wholesalers will contact me if they are looking for a specific button that they need for a customer, because I might very well have it in my own 'button museum'. I mark his passing as the loss of a very dear friend.
