Downton Abbey era Christmas postcard... great graphic design...WWI Christmas holiday greetings. Card from the first Christmas of WWI just 5 months after the start of the war. Christmas of 1914 was famous for the Christmas truce celebrated by both sides of the war with a brief cease fire and yule tide connection of the soldiers as citizens rather than combatants. Gifts were exchanged and even a soccer game was played. This was the early days of one of the bloodiest conflicts in history.(click "more" for listing details, see pics, ck policies shop main page)

DIMENSIONS and SPECS: Approx. 3 1/2" X 5 1/2" Surface tear/rub adn pin hole at top spots on back and front . Postally used with Kansas City postmark Dec 10 1914 8 A M Cancelled 1 cent George Washington stamp. Watermark (whenrosesbloom) is not on postcard--just on web shot. We ship within 72 hours after receiving your cleared payment. Please let us know if you have a deadline for receiving order. We generally ship 1st class or priority. Shipping cost is figured on this upgraded service and does include a small amount for cost of packaging. Insurance is not automatically added to each shipment. Check with us on insurance if desired. No refund will be given for "lost" packages, so, if you would like insurance, please let us know during checkout and it will be added to the total. We are not responsible for damaged, lost or undeliverable packages. We take great care with our orders and carefully package and check each item before the package leaves our office in preparation to be delivered to the postal shipping service. Once we deliver the package to the shipper (UPS or the Postal Service), the package is in the hands of the shipping company and it is in transit to you. Insurance is recommended if item (s) are breakable or have value. Please let us know if you have any special "needs" (time frame etc) before ordering.
Insurance is NOT INCLUDED in shipping cost unless noted in the listing.
If you would like to have your package insured, it must be requested at the time of your order and purchased in addition to the shipping cost quoted if not already included and noted. We have Etsy Direct checkout and we accept Etsy Gift Cards. We also have Paypal. We prefer immediate payment for purchases. Purchases will be cancelled if payment is not received within 3 days. If you are interested in purchasing any item and have questions, please e-mail before purchase. We can work with you and do not have any problems with short term reserves (layaways). Missouri residents are subject to sales tax.

Conditions of return
Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
Additional return information
All sales are final but we will consider refunds (given in a store credit) on a case by case basis. Because of the nature of vintage we have some restrictions on returns of vintage items. Request for returns must be made in timely manner. Returns will incur a restocking fee. Postage is not refundable. Item must be returned in same condition as sent out and in the same manner as it was sent out with a tracking number/insurance/original packing. Buyers from EU Countries must contact within 14 days--see additional shipping info for EU/International orders. All returns must have approval before return. We do not accept returns without prior notification of desire for a return and without approval for return from WhenRosesBloomShop.
