Item details

This listing is for a baby boy or baby girl elephant bib sewing pattern, which you can download to your computer and print out at home. There is nothing quite as charming as a baby elephant. The ric rac tail adds a little fun and dimension. I imagine this sweet little one walking along, following Mom, but finding it hard to resist chasing the other animals playing about the jungle. Use different colors to customize this bib for either a boy or girl. See additional pic. This pattern is for the elephant applique and the bib.

This bib is super quick and easy to make - perfect for a last minute baby shower gift, birthday, or Christmas present. . . but, if you don't have the time or desire to make one yourself I will happily and lovingly create one for you.

It looks absolutely adorable when paired with a baby elephant onesie. I offer the finished onesie and sewing pattern in my shop.

I would much rather give a handmade gift than one purchased at a big box store which was mass produced in a factory somewhere overseas. I feel a handmade gift is a gift of love.

I believe in handmade.

Difficulty Rating: Easy

Sizes: The bib measures approximately 10” across and 12” long.

Materials Needed:
Fabric for bib top and applique, terrycloth for the backing, thread, fusible stabilizer, fusible web, ric-rac, a plastic or metal snap, (or velcro if you prefer) and an iron. Optional: Black fabric marker to draw eye, Fray Check to prevent unraveling of ric rac. I recommend using a sewing machine to securely stitch the design onto the fabric, but you could do it by hand.

Suggested Fabrics:
100% cotton fabrics. I don’t recommend any fabrics with nylon content as they will melt when fusing the applique with an iron. You could probably get away with a cotton/polyester blend if your iron isn’t set too high.
