These raw silk stretched cocoons are useful for thermal insulation in quilts and clothing, silk caps for chemotherapy (super soft and light on the skin), spinning into yarn, dyeing as-is for hankies, felting, etc. Made in Japan.
One package contains five stretched cocoons. Light as a feather!
Stretching tip: It takes two! Open one mawata up (it's like a pocket) and using two people, pull four corners at the same time to stretch the mawata into a large square.
Quilters: stretch a few of these out and lay them on top of a quilt batting to add a soft and warm layer to your regular batting.
