Spadea N 1184 by Ceil Chapman Cocktail Dress Pattern

Dance the night away in this dreamy creation from a famous mid-century designer. Loads of feminine appeal make this a winner in any decade.
In the fashion world of the 1950s and 1960s, Ceil Chapman was regarded as the "Queen of Draping". Her original dresses are highly sought after.

The bodice of this dress is defined by Ceil Chapman's signature ruching applied asymmetrically across the bodice giving the garment a sari effect and textural interest.
The same treatment is applied to the back.

A full frothy skirt layered with gossamer floaty chiffon is applied over an opaque lining that is guaranteed to move easily and sensually around the body when walking or dancing.

I can envision this in black with a vintage rhinestone pin on the shoulder to add pop and sparkle.

Since this is a mail order pattern there is no manufacturer's cover. However the orginal mailing envelope is included with a 15cent metered mail stamp.

Size 10

Additional policies

I do not sell copies, reproductions or PDF patterns. ALL my listings are authentic patterns as originally printed by the manufacturer.

I NEVER use stock photos of pattern envelopes. Every envelope cover is individually scanned and is ALWAYS presented in my listing. I want to professionally present the actual cover the buyer will receive upon purchase.

When I write a pattern is complete, it means all the pieces are present----AND the instructions are present as well.
Occasionally a pattern may be missing a minor piece.
I will always bring it to the attention of the reader in my written description.

My home is smoke free--no pets.

AND FINALLY--since you read this page down to here I've prepared a 10% discount for purchases over $20.00
