Here is an unusual bead for your necklace or other jewelry designs. This is a brachiopod fossil from the Mississippian limestones east of Challis, Idaho. The bead is black limestone with patches of the calcite shell material. This natural fossil will set off that stone bead necklace. The cord shown in two of the photos is not included in this sale, the listing is for the bead only.
The bead is ⅞ x 1 ¼ x 1 ⅜ inches with a 3.5 mm hole.
I found this fossil, drilled the hole, cleaned it up and polished it carefully so as to preserve all the textures and features. It will make a unique necklace of your unusual and special design.
