"Sprout" - 50/50 Micro-Farmed Angora/Organic Polwarth Wool 2oz Batt. This is a heavenly blend of Certified Organic Polwarth wool, hand dyed in shades of spring green, and undyed white angora rabbit fur, carded together into super soft and fluffy batts on my doublewide drum carder. The angora is from Gracie, a rabbit I raised myself and who now lives on a micro-farm here in Maine. Gracie's a fun and snuggly rabbit who is loved and treated with the utmost care and respect. She gets a very gentle, completely painless haircut every 3 months and produces wonderfully soft, luxurious fiber.
Each 2oz batt is approximately 22"x20"x1" (56cmx51x3cm) and will spin up into a pretty blend of spring green and white with a lovely angora halo.
Why choose certified organic wool? Federal requirements for organic livestock production include:
•Sheep must be fed certified organic feed and forage
•No synthetic hormones or genetic engineering
•No synthetic pesticides (ex. no dipping in insecticides)
•Farmers must encourage sheep health through good cultural and management practices (ex. plenty of pasture time without exceeding the natural carrying capacity of the land)
I believe that wool from sheep and rabbits that are humanely treated fits well with Morning Bright's mission to produce yarn from happy, well cared for animals.

We use very high-quality, non-toxic, washfast, colorfast, professional dyes on our yarns. We rinse very thoroughly after dyeing, but there still may be some loss of color in your rinse water, especially with the darker shades. This will not effect the color of your yarn.
