Free Standing Lace BookMark
London Phone Booth
sized for a 5x7 hoop
I recently got into stitching up FSL BookMarks. A good friend asked me to stitch up a variety of them that she could look through them and select some to give away at her Christmas book club meeting.
It was a good idea.
I've always wanted to experiment in creating free standing lace. At the same time, I am fascinated by icons and images of London.
Consequently, I have a number of ideas for FSL London bookmarks. This one is the first.

To stitch out a free standing lace design, you must first hoop a stabilizer that desolves completely in water, thus leaving only thread behind. There are 2 such stabilizers that I prefer. The first is called BADGEMASTER. I buy this from www.bluemoonembroiderysupply.com. It's like the WSS topper that you'd use when you embroider on a towel, but it is much thicker. The other product I like is Floriani Wet and Gone.
To finish off the bookmark, and a ribbon, or as in the above photo, add a fun purchased tassel.
This embroidery design is used by an embroidery machine. You must have the means to move this design from your computer to your embroidery machine. This is not a patch that you iron on.
