Handspinning, anyone? Whether you work with a wheel or a drop spindle, you'll enjoy this fiber fresh from our farm. It's from the wool of our Polypay sheep, processed and dyed a pleasing purple color at a Michigan woolen mill.
This is entirely a Michigan-made product. Your purchase will help support a small family farm. While both of these are great reasons to give it a try, the best reason of all is that our roving is wonderful to use for spinning or needle felting. You can even knit or crochet with it, using huge bulky needles or hooks.
Polypay was the featured breed in the 2010 Winter Spin-Off magazine.
You may choose either 4 oz. or 1 oz. balls. Your roving will be shipped first-class in a tear-proof envelope.
☆ A note about farm-fresh roving. Our wool is cleaned with soap and water. Unlike some commercially produced wool, it is not soaked in hydrochloric acid or other harsh chemicals. This makes it more skin-friendly and eco-friendly. However, the gentle processes used may allow a bit of hay to remain in the roving. This can be easily picked out as you spin the wool or use it for felting.
☆ All my items are from a non-smoking home. Every effort has been made to adequately reproduce and describe the color of this item. Please remember, however, that computer monitors display color differently.
☆ INTERNATIONAL FRIENDS - I ship via First Class International Mail which does NOT include tracking or insurance. If you would like to add these services to secure your shipment, please convo me. Thanks!
Items paid for through paypal or by credit card are mailed (USPS First Class or Priority) within 48 hours of purchase (M-F only). Paypal echecks must clear before shipping.
We are willing to ship to Canada (and perhaps other places, as well). Socks can now be shipped First Class International to Australia and the UK. Please convo me with any other item and/or destination, and I will by happy to obtain information on shipping costs from the post office. Remember, the buyer is always responsible for custom, taxes and duty in their own country. We are not responsible for packages lost in the mail and will not replace them, so please keep this in mind when ordering.
We LOVE selling locally, as it is a much more environmentally and economically sustainable way of doing business. If you are within 15 miles or so of us, we'll make arrangements to drop your purchase off at your business or home. Avoid shipping charges completely! Make sure you contact us before paying so that we can send you an adjusted invoice.
Paypal and credit card are accepted as payment. Local buyers may convo me about alternate forms of payment (like cash or personal checks) and local pickup. The shipment of any purchase that does not include immediate payment (such as echecks) will wait until I have actually received the money.
Returns & exchanges
If you're not pleased, please contact us within 3 days of receiving your item and we'll try to make it right. In the event that both of us agree that the only satisfactory resolution is the return of the item, you must be prepared to pay for shipping the item back to us. Your purchase price (not including original shipping charges) will be refunded if we receive the item in new condition within 7 days of our agreement.
Our sock sizes are based on US shoe sizes. So if you wear a size 9 shoe, look for socks that have a size 9 in the range.
Please feel free to contact us if you have questions or special requests. While we can't make everyone's dream come true, there's no harm in asking. We do not do custom socks from your yarn--we've got plenty of our own to work with.
We'd love to have your positive feedback if you're pleased with your purchase.
