Antique Sewing Machine, "Baby" Brand, made in Paris marked on needle plate made from cast iron. Early model painted black with Art Deco decorative decals.
All original. No re-painting. The wheel which drives the needle up and down works. Needle mechanism is in place.
Some rust visible but still in good condition for an older sewing machine. I have seen much, much worse in my travels in France. Many times these old sewing machines were tossed into an attic or barn and were totally rusted over.
"Baby" clearly marked in bold red letters on base.
This is a very collectible sewing machine made for children and was a working model. Children were taught to sew using these smaller machines.
Nice touch for a sewing studio or to place on a bookshelf. A reminder of the past. Remember the Russian tailor's excitement in "Fiddler on a Roof" when his first sewing machine arrived!
Measurements: Base is 9" across x 5.5" wide. 8" tall
