Pin Loom Weaving Diamond Scarf Pattern
by Marcella Edmund
Like a dew drop sparkling with every color, the Diamond Scarf reflects a rainbow. The bias set makes a draping cloth, and in jewel toned mohair, it is pure luxury.
Skills: pin loom weaving, hand sewing
Materials: 22 colors mohair yarn, 350 yards total*; each square takes 8 yards. The models’ yarns are in light and dark shades of 12 different hues, for a total of 22 colors.
(More yarn will be needed for sample-making, and if double strands are used)
2 hanks white crewel wool, for assembly
Equipment: 4” pin loom, weaving needle, tapestry needle, scissors, natural bristle brush
Dimensions: 10” x 76” requires 44 squares
*Note: this pattern may require some experimentation to achieve the correct sett, when using yarns of different weights. All squares should have approximately the same density. See instructions
